Privacy Policy

Ranked Choice: Group Vote ("the App") is developed by Zima Logistics LLC, a mobile software studio based in Boulder, Colorado. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

a. Vote data (cloud mode)

When you use cloud mode, vote metadata (title, options, settings) and ballot submissions are transmitted to and stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure (Workers + D1). This data is keyed by the 5-character join code and is not linked to any personal account, email address, or device ID. Vote data is automatically deleted after the vote closes and a short retention window elapses.

b. Local data

Vote history, preferences, and Pro purchase status are stored locally on your device. This data is backed up to iCloud Drive if you have iCloud enabled — Apple controls that backup according to their own Privacy Policy.

c. No personal identifiers

The App does not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifier. No account creation is required. Voter identity within a vote session is ephemeral and local.

2. How We Use Data

Vote data transmitted to Cloudflare is used solely to relay ballots between participants during an active vote session. We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond facilitating the vote.

3. Third-Party Services

• Cloudflare Workers / D1 — processes and temporarily stores cloud-mode vote data. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
• Apple iCloud — optional backup for local vote history. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties.

4. Anonymous Mode

When a vote creator enables Anonymous Mode, individual ballot choices are not visible to the creator or other participants until the deadline. The App is designed so that anonymous ballots cannot be linked back to a specific voter after submission.

5. Data Retention

Cloud-mode vote data is deleted automatically after the vote closes. Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. iCloud backups are managed by Apple.

6. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
